MRPA
The Metropolitan River Protection Act establishes a 2,000-foot-wide corridor along a 48-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River, from Buford Dam to Peachtree Creek. Within this corridor, any land-disturbing activity—such as development, grading, or construction—requires special review and approval to ensure it meets environmental and land-use standards.
The Act is administered by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), which reviews projects to ensure they preserve water quality and natural habitats, prevent erosion and sedimentation, and maintain the scenic and recreational value of the river. We have experience in this corridor and can help you find and secure necessary credits for your project.
